Wine Country

I have always wanted to get out and visit vineyards and go wine tasting. Just outside of Portland there are tons of vineyards and tasting rooms in Yamhill county. Yet I had only been twice. Recently one of my dear friends invited a group of us to go wine tasting at Duck Pond Cellars outside of Dundee, Oregon. I loved tasting the different varieties of wines, but I loved even more the tour of the facilities. I find it quite fascinating to see how things are made. Although most of the operation was not running on this Sunday afternoon, we were able to see a fresh set of grapes going through the auger getting mashed up. After having such a fun day with the girls, I decided I must go back soon! I really want to do a full vineyard tour and be able to photograph the beautiful landscape.

Fresh Flowers

Oh how I love having fresh flowers in the house. It is such a nice treat that I need to do for myself more often. Especially when you really don’t have to spend a lot to get beautiful flowers. Today I stopped by Trader Joes and picked up some daisies. Oh and the gold polka dot vase you may recognize from the post I showed a few days back, I originally made a bunch of them for my friends bridal shower.

Gold Love Part Two- DIY

Remember my Gold Love post awhile back? Love the look but hate the price? Here are some easy and inexpensive ways to get the look without spending a ton!
Grab some spray paint! Spray some branches and then display them in a vase (I’m dying to do this), spray an old box, a bar cart, or some random objects.

Or you could get some gold washi tape and use it to decorate vases, trays and boxes. Remember when I posted this tutorial showing how to make a mason jar pen/pencil holder?

Pick up some clear glass vases at the dollar store or thrift store and paint them. I recently bought some vases and tried painting them with gold using a few techniques for a friends bridal shower. I loved how the polka dot vases turned out and they were super easy I just used the end of paint brushes and some acrylic paint! I wanted to try doing the dipped look but didn’t have enough paint or a good container to dip it in. I wouldn’t put them in the dishwasher though as the paint may come off (or buy glass paint).

PS- sorry I don’t have any pretty pictures with flowers in them! My nice camera was left in Bend unfortunately.
OR Tape off your vase/bowl at an angle and spray paint

Also you can use glitter to add gold any old accessories you have or something you picked up at a garage sale or thrift store.

Washi Tape Graphics On Your Walls

Oh washi tape, what have we done without you. I have seen so many cute projects with washi tape, but somehow haven’t started using it myself! Here are some fun ideas to do creating graphics and decorations on your walls. This is perfect if you are a renter and can’t paint or put wallcoverings up.

I love the idea of creating  frames on your walls

The Manifesto Magalog/ Cup of Te this new online mag is so cute!!

Love this idea for a picture wall with no frames.. Washi tape creations instead. Love it or not your thing?

This is my ultimate favorite! I really want to do this above my bed. I currently don’t have a headboard and would love to create a faux headboard with this.
