Easy and cute holiday cards

I always enjoy making cards for my loved ones at the holidays but boy does it take a lot of time! Last year I decided to make digital cards and couldn’t have been happier. I was able to get 50 cards with envelopes and four mini calendar cards for $9.99 through Costco! Currently they are $14.99 for a set of 50, 6 x 7.5” in size. You can create larger ones and more elaborate ones if you like.  I couldn’t believe how cute the designs were! I highly recommend making them there if you are looking for an easy and affordable Christmas card. Below are the cards I made last year. I need to figure out what to do this year as I haven’t found the “perfect” picture. I had an amazing idea for a photo but the idea got shot down by someone…

What do you do for your holiday cards? Hand make them, digitally make them or just by generic cards?

Kahneeta

This past fall my boyfriend and I went over to Kahneeta and stayed at the resort. I have always gone there for the day and basked in the sun and relaxed in the warm pool. The water comes from a natural hot spring and is cooled in the summer and 92 degrees in the fall and winter. It is just wonderful.

Photo from their website.

Staying at the resort is a completely different experience. You have a very nice room, a casino, separate pool and hot tub, restaurants and such. Once we arrived to our room we immediatly went out on the balcony and saw this!

There were two beautiful wild horses grazing in the grace right by our room! I love horses and was very excited about this. I ended up telling the concierge and it turns out they feed up there all the time! After watching them for a while we went and explored and went to dinner. We came back to the room and they were still out there! Clearly I was amazed by this. Just wanted to share some beautiful scenery. If you live in Oregon or ever visit I highly recommend visiting Kahneeta!

Photo Collage

I have always loved photos. I enjoy photos of nature, friends and family, and anything interesting! I recently have been looking at how to display many photos together while looking balanced, ie a photo collage or gallery wall. Here Marissa from Roost explains how to configure a perfect layout for your photo wall. The simplified version:

Lay all photo frames out on floor.
Flip frames over and examine hanger location.
Lay wax paper on top of frames and trace the outline and mark where the hanger is.
Use masking tape, a level and a tape measure to place the wax paper on the wall exactly where you want it.
Through the wax paper hammer in your nail exactly where you marked the hanger.
Tear down the wax paper and hang your frames. Voila your finished!
Thanks Marissa for inspiring me to begin looking for fun frames so I can build my own photo wall!
