Summer, where have you gone?

It’s October 1st and I think fall has officially arrived. The leaves are changing and the air is crisp in the morning and evenings. I set out to work this morning in capri’s and sandals and quickly realized it’s time to take these out of my wardrobe as it is just too chilly. I had the most amazing summer playing in the sun and I am just not ready for it to end! I never am ready for fall and winter to come but this year I am really bummed. All summer we spent on the boat with friends and family visiting beautiful places (when I wasn’t working). I am truly lucky to have spent it doing such fun things with the ones I love. What in the world are we going to do all winter?

That’s just a few of my many photos of fun on the boat!

I took this photo last fall before I could have even dreamed of having a boat. Come summer time and the MR has bought a boat and we were on this water!

Luckily for me I am getting a much deserved break from work and headed on a Caribbean cruise! Ah to be basking in the warm sun and taking a dip in warm water. I just can’t wait! The best thing about a cruise? No phone or email access! Here is a photo from my last cruise 5 years ago! I can’t believe it has been that long since I have cruised!

Be optimistic and enjoy all seasons of the year! Yes, even the rainy season in Portland!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

The weather in Portland has been quite bipolar as of late. I always remember the phrase April showers bring May flowers and long for the sunny weather. Last spring I visited a beautiful place, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest. If you have never been I highly suggest it.  I enjoyed taking many photos of the different varieties of Tulips and wanted to share just a few. There were also some cool old steam engines!

Falling into Fall

I looked out my window today and realized wow all the leaves are begging to change, almost overnight! Although I hate the cold, rainy weather fall and winter brings us, I love seeing the beautiful array of colors spread throughout the trees. Last year I was in awe of the beauty and wanted to take lots of photos, but the window of opportunity is quick. I snapped these photos outside a shopping center if you can believe that! This year, I must find some beautiful places to photograph the changing leaves.

If anyone has any suggestions on places around the Portland area to photograph fall time I would love to hear them!

The Herrerra Family

Recently my boyfriend and I took a trip over to Bend and got to see my cousins Angel, Dax and Ella. She asked if I could take a few family photos of them. Of course I was thrilled but wished I would have had some time to prepare. I really haven't done any formal shoots. I have always loved taking photos but am now beginning to get more into it and have a DSLR camera. I  mostly shoot landscape photos so portraits was a new thing for me. Here are some of my favorite shots I captured!

I am in awe over the beautiful colors the leaves are changing too. Hopefully I will get out and capture some more photos soon!

Alchemia Chair in the Spotlight

                                                       All photos by Kristen Peterson.

Meet the Alchemia by Calligaris! A stunning polycarbonate chair in various colors and stackable up to six! This lightweight chair is suprisingly quite comfortable for a "plastic" chair. Come on in to  Hip to see it in person, I am sure you will love it!
