Washi Tape Graphics On Your Walls

Oh washi tape, what have we done without you. I have seen so many cute projects with washi tape, but somehow haven’t started using it myself! Here are some fun ideas to do creating graphics and decorations on your walls. This is perfect if you are a renter and can’t paint or put wallcoverings up.

I love the idea of creating  frames on your walls

The Manifesto Magalog/ Cup of Te this new online mag is so cute!!

Love this idea for a picture wall with no frames.. Washi tape creations instead. Love it or not your thing?

Gold Love

Let me first start this post by openly admitting, that I started this post over a year ago. How did I never finish it? I don’t know. I often get all these ideas, start them and get distracted and forget to finish them. But, I will admit that my idea for a Gold Love post, inspired me to start a series of blogs on colors! I am going to be posting photos to admire of great spaces using a particular color. Be sure to keep checking back for those posts.
Is it just me or have you guys been loving gold too? I have been loving it for quite awhile and have built quite a collection of photos on Pinterest. What would I do without Pinterest? Check out my pins and follow to keep up on the latest things I’m loving!

If you are able to afford it, head to your local TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Home Goods or Target. You would be surprised at how much gold you can find for a reasonable price! Check out these great gold bowls from Nate Berkus for Target. They are $7.99 and $14.99! I can deal with that.

Jonathan Adler

I have always loved Jonathan Adler’s colorful designs and patterns. Recently a Jonathan Adler store came to Portland and boy is it amazing, but very expensive! I found out that JC Penny’s has collaborated with Jonathan Adler and now has his amazing designs in their store at a fraction of the price!

Bride and Groom Mugs

One of my best friends recently got married to the love of her life. I was very involved in planning her shower and bachelorette party and wanted to share some of those details with you guys. Today, I am going to show you a quick and easy gift that I made. You can do the same thing or come up with your own plan for a gift! Originally I saw a mug on Pinterest that said “He loves strong coffee” and “she loves green tea” I loved the idea and wanted to personalize it as my friends loves hot chocolate, unfortunately her man is not a coffee or tea drinker but a hot chocolate drinker as well so it just didn’t work. So I did a MR. and MRS. set and a BRIDE and GROOM set. They absolutely loved them! I had seen this idea done many times, but I followed these directions. Here is how to make them:
1. Pick up some plain white mugs and make sure they are clean
2. Create your design and draw it on using a sharpie marker
3. Put the mugs on a cookie sheet and put in the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This will set the design, however I have read that you should hand wash these as sometimes it will come off in the dishwasher.

Dogs and Design

I love dogs and I love design. Why not combine the two? There are some amazing spaces with adorable pets in them. I began my search a long time ago to gather these photos. It proved more challenging than I expected. I thought I would be able to find great design shots with adorable pups in them. It’s not as easy as you would think. I am here today to share with you some fabulous spaces with dogs in them.

Organization Tip of the Day

To fellow organizers (or wannabe organizers) out there, you know when you find a good box, basket, or container you just have to buy it and it doesn’t matter what you put in it. You will find a use for it. Well that happened to me the other day when I was at the Dollar Tree. I spotted a blue somewhat transparent pencil/crayon/marker box. Although I do have a wide array of pencils, colored pencils and special rendering markers from school (and scrapbooking) I did not need this box for those. I knew I had to have it and that it would serve a great purpose for something. I began thinking of what I could put in the container and decided to share some ideas with you guys.
  • small tools or parts
  • pictures
  • picture hooks and mounting supplies
  • face wipes (for the gym) or baby wipes (for the car) they are really handy when your hands are dirty or you spill something!
  • scrapbook supplies such as punches, stamps, ribbon or washi tape, cut outs, decorative flowers or other 3d decorations, scissors, adhesives, glitter, cricut cartridges, etc
  • packets in the kitchen such as seasoning, mixes, and drink packets
  • card games
  • receipts
  • coupons
  • small toiletries (travel or sample size)
  • makeup/makeup brushes
  • nail polish/supplies
  • perfume samples
  • stockpile of extras (toothbrush, razers, soap, etc)

I’m pretty sure you now see how great this dollar find truly is. Plus, if you still can’t find a use for it after my many ideas, it was only a dollar. Do you have any other uses you can think of?

Margarita Mondays

I have added a twist to the basic margarita by adding orange juice, it is really tasty! I am sure I am not the first to do this but I thought I would share my “recipe” with you. To be honest I just put a little of this and that in the mix, but I would estimate it to be around these proportions. Play around with the amount of orange juice as it can really change the flavor.

2 oz tequila
4 oz premade margarita mix (we like the Kirkland brand from Costco, evidently there is a mix with tequila in it if your state allows liquor to be sold at supermarkets, Oregon does not unfortunately)
3 oz orange juice
a few ice cubes

Throw all the ingredients in a magic bullet or blender, then blend until you like the consistency. Then enjoy!

image

My other current favorite is a creamsicle or blended creamsicle!
2 oz whipped flavored vodka
6-8 oz orange juice
Simply stir together or add a few ice cubes and blend for a frozen treat!

Enjoy these yummy drinks out in the sun!

Paint Chip Art

I have seen so many projects lately reusing paint chip samples! I have yet to make one myself but think it might be about time to do so. Surprisingly I don’t have any paint chips hanging around at the moment.
